This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Teens Era Yellow dress with green trim
From the seller:
Wonderful pre-WWI day dress (Downton Abbey!), there are are beautiful features, green trim and wonderful appliques. Closes at back. Lace is tearing at shoulders, due to age. Pigeon Breast style in front. Waist is 25.5", bust on mannequin is 34" but can probably go up to 36". Bid price reflects damage of garment.
From Me:
It's not a pigeon front - it's just badly displayed. Also, WWI started in 1914 - this dress is probably around 1917/1918 - towards the end of the war.
