Victorian Turkish Jacket

From the seller:

This antique Turkish Ottoman court costume gold silk brocade smock, vest caftan coat dates from the 19th century. It is hand stitched, made of a luxurious royal blue silk damask weave gold brocade fabric, with a stripe floral design. There is gold metallic braided trim and knotted ball buttons. This exquisite 2 piece court costume has an open front, flared bottom blouse smock underneath, with long fitted sleeves and button cuffs. The underblouse top measures 28 inches long, with a 32 inch chest and 22 inch long sleeves. There is a matching fabric overcoat vest style caftan jacket, with short cap sleeves, a low rounded scoop neckline, side slit pockets, flared bottom and button closure at the neck. It is fully lined in a beautiful floral and wheat print cotton chintz fabric, with silk ribbon and braided trim edging inside. The overcoat vest measures 28 inches long, with a 32 inch chest. It is in good condition, with only a few tiny frays under the arms and on the sleeves. This is truly a rare and exceptional piece of wearable antique Ottoman Turkish textile art!

From Me:

This makes me happy. :-)

I'm putting it in the 1880's due to the fabric but give or take 20 years on that date.
