Queen of Diamonds Blue 1860's Dress

From the seller:

A graceful 1870’s three piece vivid blue silk dress that has recently been de-accessioned from a major New York City Museum collection. The ensemble consists of a bodice bustle back over skirt and trained under skirt. The bodice neckline is trimmed with black velvet. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front button closure. There are several missing buttons. The over skirt is unlined. It is trimmed with black velvet and diamond shaped black velvet appliqués. The underskirt is also trimmed with black velvet appliqués. The skirt is lined with buckram and has a long back sweep. The dress is in good condition. The bodice has a couple of small splits on the back neckline, light underarm discoloration and 1 inch splits under each arm. There is a thumb size spot on the under skirt. The appliqués are loose and will need some minor re-stitching. A beautiful display dress. Bust 32 Waist 22 Under skirt front length 41 back length 54.

From Me:

Probably about 1869 based upon how full the skirt still is and the cut of the bodice. It still has that 1860's look...but with an overskirt.
