This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

From the seller:
ANTIQUE COAT AND WAISTCOAT, ca.1785.
It's pale green satin (like pale blue, difficult to photograph)
SOLD AS IS :
All the buttons are on the coat (see pictures)
2 buttons loss on the waistcoat.
The satin is in good condition but all the 2 pieces are with spots here and there.
This suit is perfect for pattern.
The buttons are very interesting.
On Aug-25-14 at 23:25:20 PDT, seller added the following information:
I added 2 picture of the lining.
The coat and the waistcoat are lined with silk and "wool".
On the last picture you can imagine the color of the suit.
I repeat that this suit is very interesting for buttons. He have spots, stains and other.
SOLD AS IS.
From Me:
I kept staring at this and thinking "I really don't think it's 1780's". I couldn't figure out why (men's clothing sometimes confuses me) until I found a similar outfit at the Met. That would explain it. So 1760's.
