This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. Late 1920's/early 1930's Floral Print Sheer Dress
From the seller:
Vintage 1920s ivory chiffon dress with muted pink and blue floral print. Sheer, mesh and applique lace square neckline with tiered ruffle sleeves. Ruffled waist seam with smocking. Sid panels of of skirt are tiered lace. Dress is sheer and unlined. No slip or undergarment included. Metal snap closure at side seam.
condition: good. Small holes in various places(size ranges from pin hole to 1.4"). A larger 2.5" mend on back of skirt in a boomerang shape.
Fits like a small.

This looks very homemade to me - probably from an earlier dress. The ruffles on the side are consistant with an early 1930's (1931) date but the waistline is a bit low for fashion at that point - not that many were following fashion given that lil thing called the Great Depression. So somewhere between 1929/1931.
