This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1930's Summer Floral Dress

to this adorable day dress c. 1935
...diagonal yellow...juxtaposed against bright orange & brown floral fabric
...mother of pearl buttons on each shoulder...original sash
...side metal zipper " Indian Head percale" " Winnie Mae "
Apologies: this dress has several stains [ I have pictured them all ]....tear R. shoulder
R. side skirt has several pin holes /couple 1/4" holes [ usually around the border of a flower or leaf, which do not show when on, only when held to light ]
Such a great dress * clearly worn & loved * I leave laundering & restoration to buyer, please WONDERFUL FOR STUDY
Measurements [ lying flat ] :
underarm-underarm: 17" waist: 15" hips: 17" length: 44" [2 " hem ]

Although this 1930's Summer Dress is fabulous, I can't help but look at the floral colors and think of my bedsheets as a kid in the early 1980's...
