White Edwardian Lace Dress

From the seller:

A romantic 1895 pure white net lace dress. The bodice has a wide shawl style collar that dips low over the front wait line. The collar is decorated with rose lace appliqués and Val lace trim. The bodice has leg of mutton styled sleeves. The waist and lower edge of the skirt are trimmed with lace inserts. The dress is fully lined with cotton and has a back hook and eye closure. The hooks and eyes are new replacements. The dress is in very good and clean condition. There is no underarm discoloration. There are a couple of tiny age spots on the cotton lining and a few tiny mends in the net lace on the skirt. This age flaws are very minor. A beautiful display dress. Bust 32 Waist 24 Skirt length 42 ½.

The above is from 1905. The original extant gown would have had a dickey turtleneck (as we would have called it today) most likely of lace to cover the neck and shoulders.
