Green Dress from 1867

Measures:

Neck circumference: 17"

Shoulder from sleeve to sleeve: 15"

Sleeve inseam: 14"

Bust: 34"

Waist: 24"

Length from collar to waist: 14"

Bodice overall length: 27"

Skirt Length: 38", 53"

Skirt circumference: 180"

Condition:

Scattered areas of discoloration on both pieces, especially noticeable underarms, silk velvet trim shows wear, some pull at stress areas, one missing button on bodice, waist on skirt is adjustable-likely a later alteration,

The green dress in the fashion plate looks a lot like the extant one here. And is anyone else looking at the extant one and thinking "CURTAIN DRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" just in silk rather than velvet? I think it's the sash....

    1. I think many of them got "reworked" over the next two decades which is why you don't see this style often. Always gotta have pockets - I need to hide that camera somewhere!
