Pretty White Cotton American Civil War Era Dress

From the seller:

A stunning 1860’s white dimity cotton summer seaside dress. Please look at the last photos to see the beautiful braided white passementerie trim that covers the bodice and skirt. The photos of the trim do not do it justice. The bodice is decorated around the neckline, front opening and on the top and edge of the sleeves. The bodice is unlined and has a front button closure. The neck and armscyes are piped. The front panel of the skirt and along the entire edge of the hemline is decorated with the passementerie trim. The skirt is unlined. The blue satin ribbon belt is not included and is for display purposes only. The dress is in very good and sturdy condition. There are no holes in the fabric and no underarm discoloration. There are a few scattered small age spots, some minor fraying along the edge of the hemline in one area and one of the buttons is loosing its cover fabric. Bust 34 ½ Wait 24 Skirt length 140.

From Me:
Taken from Godey's 1863

Although the sleeves are different, the style of the braid and even the cut of the dress is very similar to the above fashion plate. This dress is probably from about 1863/1864 making it perfect to recreate for any summer re-enactments.
