This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Super Cute 1890's Yellow and Black Outfit
From the seller:
This Victorian gown is made from a pretty silk brocade, the bodice has poufs on the upper sleeves, it's trimmed with black lace over ivory silk. The tan silk ruffle is terrible, the top edge of the collar is frayed, the silk facing on the peplum is also in poor condition, the black silk brocade is excellent. The bodice measures 30 inches around the bust, across the back shoulder is 9 3/4 inches, but the full sleeves will give a little room, waist is 21 and it's 22 inches long, curving a little shorter in front. The skirt has a hole punctured through the side of the skirt from the hanger, the skirt is starting to shatter in a few areas, but the majority is fine, it has a scalloped ruffle around the bottom trimmed with bows and is lined with brown linen. It measures 21 1/2 inches around the waist, hips are full and it's 38 1/2 inches long in front. As is.
From Me:
This is so cute! I love the trim, the color combo, and the style. Probably about 1896 based on the sleeve style.
