This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1820's Silk Dress
From the seller:
A rare 1820’s taupe silk dress. The dress is all hand stitched. The bodice has padded cording around the neckline and on the sleeve cuffs. The shoulders and armscyes are piped. The bodice is lined with tan cotton and has a tie closure at the waist. The bottom of the skirt is padded and has a band of padded cording. The skirt is unlined except for a wide band of tan cotton at the edge of the hemline. The dress is in good and study condition. There is a wide area of underarm discoloration. (See photos.) There are a few other small pea size age spots. There are a few tiny pencil tip size holes and the inside lining on the bodice has splits. (See Photos.). A lovely dress to add to an early textile collection. Bust 32 High Waist 26 Skirt length 38.
From Me:
I love the 1820's. So cute!
