This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Edwardian Children's Dresses
From the seller:
Lot of two antique Victorian, Edwardian little girl's dresses, both have faults but would be great to use as a pattern or they could be mended. One is a white cotton with top stitched polka dots, a wide filet lace hemline, lace cuffs and neckline. The dress has a large spot on one of the sleeves (photo), fabric thinning and tear by the arm seam and a few very small holes. The dress measures 22 1/2" long, 12 1/2" across the chest, 9" across the shoulder seams, 9 1/2" sleeve length. ~~~ Gorgeous little girls drop waist linen dress with a full sweeping hemline. You can see in the photo that there's a large tear on the side of the skirt below the drop waist seam. There's some small holes in the lace, some fabric thinning/wear in the linen sleeves and a couple of places with some small wear by the hemline. The dress measures 22" length, 12" across the chest, 9 1/2" across the shoulder seams, 86" hemsweep.

From Me:
I doubt the drop waist one was specifically a little girl's dress. Both boys and girls wore dresses until the boys were fully potty trained. They are both from the Edwardian Era- mid 1900's.
