This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Very Cool Looking Early 1930's Dress
From the seller:
Beautiful very late 1910's early 1920's dress! Dress is made from a thick, black wool tweed with a front hidden snap, boxy cut with neat mock buttons down the side, cotton lace collar, the arms of the dress are made from a rust-colored rayon sliky with a fitted wrist, small side hand pockets. Slight A-line skirt with amazing black and burnt orange embroidered.
For it's age, this dress is in amazing shape! Has not been cleaned and has been in storage for a long time, there are some small holes on the front of the dress {see last image} But other than that, no other issues. This item is not eligible for return.
Size: Small
Label: None
Bust 40
Waist
38
Hips Free
Length 44
Shoulder 15.5
From Me:
Since when is a 40" bust and a 38" waist "small"? That's a large in modern sizing. Anyway...
Geek side taking over a bit here because I want to remake this dress but have the Star War Rebel symbols at the bottom and then wear that to a con and see who notices. :-)
Back to the dress; the side button detail and the overall lines are consistent with early 1930's dresses.
