This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1880's Bustle Outfit
From the seller:
A striking 1880’s two piece silk and printed velvet dress. The dress is a dark gray silk and the velvet inserts are made of navy blue and red checked velvet. The photos do not show the true colors. The front of the bodice has a velvet insert. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a hidden front button closure. The skirt has two wide panels of velvet and a bustled back. The skirt is lined with cotton. The dress is being offered in as found condition for study or pattern. There is some mild underarm discoloration and the lining in the skirt is splitting. (See photo.) There are two missing buttons on the bodice. The silk and velvet fabrics are in good condition. Bust 34 Waist 24 ½ Skirt length 39.
From Me:
It's rare that the cotton gives out long before the silk does. Interesting!
