This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Edwardian Dress in Silver and Black
From the seller:
A stunning Belle Epoch 1895 silver and black print silk dress. The fabric has a changeable quality depending on the light reflection. The bodice has full leg of mutton style sleeves. The bodice front has a black lace and black silk insert. The front and back of the bodice are trimmed with black floral lace. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front hook and eye closure. The skirt hemline is trimmed with a wide ruffle and black floral trim. It has a long back sweep. The skirt is lined with cotton. The dress is in very good condition. There is no underarm discoloration and no age marks. There is a small area on the side of the skirt near the lace trim that has some fraying. An attractive display dress. Bust 32 Waist 26 ½ Front skirt length 41 Back length 49 ½.
From Me:
The style of the dress is consistent with the styles of the mid 1900's, not the mid 1890's, as shown by the fashion plate above.
