This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late 1920's everyday dress
From the seller:
A classic 1920's everyday dress. This was the type of dress that a woman would wear during the 1920's on an an average day. SHe might have worn it to run an errand or go to a neighbor's house for a cup of sugar, but it was not the sort of dress that would have been worn to a party or wedding or church service or for an evening out.
The dress is made of 100% cotton. It has a navy blue background & a "checkerboard" print in cream. Small collar, vee neckline, 3/4 length sleeves w/cuffs. Dropped waistline accented w/cream pipin, 2 belt loops. Pull-on style - no hooks nor snaps.
Size - Large. Actual measurements of the dress - bust 40", waist 40",hips 44", sleeve 22", length 44".
Condition - overall, good. However, the dress does have a little age - there is some very slight fading in front. Also, a 1/2" x 1/4" spot on the upper back (spot barely shows). Otherwise, good condition.
A CLASSIC 1920'S EVERYDAY COTTON DRESS.
From Me:
I almost thought this was an early 1930's feedsack dress due to the print but the style and cut is very 1920's.
