Holy Purple Polka Dots, Batman!

From the seller:

Darling purple Silk Victorian ca 1905 2pc Dress Sm w-23 1/2

This beautiful late Victorian dress is made from a purple silk with a white oval design. The bodice is lined with a light silk and has bones in the seams. It hooks down the front, it has a cute collar with a bow in front and is trimmed with what looks like bobbin lace. The sleeves are 3/4 length and gathered around the armhole. The underarm seam is popped open for about 2 inches, no damage to the fabric at all, on side of the lace on the bottom of the ends of the bow has some spots, but is only hand stitched on, easy to take off and just wash the bit of lace. It measures 33 inches, waist is 25, across the back shoulder 11 and it's 17 1/2 inches long from shoulder to bottom center front. The seam binding around the collar on the inside needs to be replaced. The skirt has a narrow waistband and hook in back. The skirt is beautifully trimmed with lace and has lovely lies. The skirt is lined with a light weigth fabric, it has velvet facing the hem and a wider facing of purple silk, but the purple silk is shredded and needs to be removed, it really doesn't serve any purpose and can be done without. There's a small mended area under the waistband, it's done by hand and very neat, it's very strudy and doesn't show. The skirt is 23 1/2 inches around the waist, you could get a little bit more by moving the hooks, if you don't mind the placket not lining up exactly. It's 36 1/2 inches long in front and 43 in back. Excellent vintage condition and a really sweet looking dress.
