Stunning early Bustle era Dress

From the seller:

An elegant transitional period 1865-1869 bronze silk dress that was originally worn by A. Davis of Raymond, New Hampshire. The bodice has beautiful Renaissance style sleeves that are lined with ivory silk. The under sleeve is tight fitting and trimmed with ruching on the cuff. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front hook and eyelet hole closing. The neck, armscyes and waist are piped. The full skirt is bustled at the back and has a long back sweep. There are ties on the inside for adjusting the bustle effect. If so desired the ties can be undone and the skirt displayed without the bustle effect. The skirt is fully lined with cotton. The dress is in very good and sturdy condition. There are no splits or holes in the fabric. There is no underarm discoloration. The lining in the bodice has scattered age spotting and there are a few minor scattered age spots on the silk fabric. A magnificent display dress. Bust 32 Waist 22. Front Skirt length 39 Back length 54 Width at hemline 176.

From Me:

My network is acting up and I'm not sure why. So I'm not sure how many posts I'll be able to get in today but I did want to share this beauty. This is probably early 1870's, based upon the waist length and the bustle styling.

    1. I think I want one like it in black and red. :-)

Now that everyone has gone home, the network is working perfectly. Probably just too much traffic earlier.
