1840's Fan Front Dress

From the seller:

A striking 1840’s two tone mauve and dark green printed challis dress. The bodice has a fan pleated front and tight pleating at the low front waist area. The neck, shoulders, armscyes and waist are piped. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a back hook and eye closure. The skirt is attached to the bodice with cartridge pleating. The skirt is unlined. The dress is in good and sturdy condition. There is a 3 ½ inch period mend on one sleeve and a small pea size hole on the same sleeve. There is a hole under one arm and some missing fabric, also on the edge of the skirt. See Photos. There is extra material inside the waist area that can be used for repairs. Bust 32 Waist 28 Skirt length 37.

From Me:

The seller and I have two very different definitions for the color "mauve". To me, it looks like this dress is green and brown but the brown may be one of those faded purples or blues that we so often see from the 19th century.
