This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Edwardian White Summer Dress
From the seller:
This antique item up for auction is a beautiful old lace/cotton wedding dress. It belonged to our great grandmother. We believe it dates back to the Victorian Era or earlier. It will be a great addition to your collection! We took the measurements with the dress FLAT and the approximate measurements are the following:
Neck: 5 1/2" wide
Shoulder to Wrist: 22" long
Armpit to Armpit: 15 1/2" wide
Waist: 12" wide
Hips: 22" wide
Shoulder to Shoulder: 14 1/2"
Shoulder to Hem: 54 1/2"
It has hidden buttons going up the back of the dress and hook closures going up the neck. This dress is from our great grandmother’s estate. It is in used condition with yellow staining in the armpits and neck areas, a few small holes approximately 1/32" to 1/16" round, a few loose threads, a small dark mark along the scalloped area of the dress, and a few needle holes where there used to be two darts going down the front of the dress. It may benefit from a cleaning/ironing. PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTO’S FOR CONDITION BEFORE BIDDING!
From Me:
White does not mean wedding anymore than black must always mean mourning. Seriously, I swear, 100 years from now, sellers will be posting plain white cotton t-shirts declaring them wedding blouses!

ROFL! It is lovely, though to me it looks more like a summer dress than a wedding dress.
