This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late Teens Era Dress
From the seller:
Wow. This is so beautiful & interesting.
The color is a steel, plum. Love the plaid accents adorned with buttons. The buttons are all there. The lace is pretty good shape with just a few holes around the neck. there is some discoloration to the lace. I have never seen this before but there are wire, squiggly braces in the collar to help keep it upright around the neck.
There are some faint stains, discoloration in several places. On the skirt, the wrists..
The belt needs to be retacked.
I've tried to cover all of the issues. You may find small issues I have overlooked but as you can see from the photos, this is in incredible shape considering for its. You may find a missing snap r a small hole
My mannequin is a size 2 & this just barely fits her.
From Me:
Post World War I most likely. You would still see this style in the very early 1920's as well.
