This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Simple Regency Embroidered Reticule
From the seller:
An early 1800-1820 embroidered cotton reticule/purse. The center front is embroidered with flowers, buds and two large leaves. The centers of the leaves have inserts of net lace. The center back is also embroidered with buds and one large leaf that also has inserts of net lace. The boarder is embroidered with small leaves. The reticule has a drawstring closure. It is in very good and sturdy condition. It has not been cleaned so there is some minor age spotting. There are a few pencil tip size holes and three that are slightly larger. A wonderful addition to an early textile collection. Length 9 inches Width 9 ½ inches
From Me:
Nice, simple, but lovely. ...And I believe the seller meant border. ;-)
