This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Mid 1860's Evening Bodice
From the seller:
A beautiful 1860’s baby blue silk and white satin evening bodice that has recently been de-accessioned from a museum collection. The neckline has blue silk Van Dyke points that are laid over white satin. The short puffed sleeves are made of white satin and trimmed with blue silk. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a back lacing closure. The original lacing is missing. The bodice is in very good condition. There is one small light colored age spot on one of the Van Dyke points. There are no holes or splits. There is very light underarm discoloration. Bust 31 Waist 20.
From Me:
Mid 1860's - probably about 1864-1866.
