This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1890's Silk Dress
From the seller:
A magnificent 1890’s slate blue and gray silk dress that is fresh from a Brooklyn, NY estate. The slate blue fabric has a plaid stripe pattern in shades of slate blue and navy blue. The bodice is trimmed with gray silk and the body is made of the stripe fabric. Both fabrics have a changeable quality depending on light reflection. The bodice is decorated with white lace and the back is trimmed with a large bow and streamers. It is boned and lined with cotton. It has a front hook and eye closure. The edge of the skirt is trimmed with a ruffle of solid slate blue silk. The skirt is fully lined. The dress is in very good condition. There are no splits or holes. There is some small areas of underarm discoloration on the inside lining only. The skirt has three dime size age spots and one area toward the side of the skirt that measures three inches (See Photo.) This beautiful dress also came with its original bonnet that is being offered in a separate auction. A wonderful display dress. Bust 34 Waist 26 Skirt length 40.
From Me:
Although the colors are sort of ordinary, the details on this garment are extraordinary. :-D (Did I mention I'm working on about four hours of sleep right now? It might get much worse y'all. Just warning.)
