This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Fluffy 1870's Dress
From the seller:
An elaborate 1870- 1880’s organdy bustle dress that is fresh from a Brooklyn, NY estate. The cuirasse style bodice has front and back inserts of ivory satin. The sleeves are ruched and the cuffs are trimmed with ivory satin bows and lace. The bodice is decorated with pleated ruffles. It is lined with cotton and has a back satin button closure. The skirt has a ruched front panel and a long mermaid train. The skirt is adored with satin ribbon bows. The bodice is in very good condition. There are a couple of very small splits by the back buttons and minor underarm discoloration. The back of the skirt has a wide area of discoloration and splitting with the area. The cotton lining inside the train is also stained. The gown was packed in the bottom of the trunk and picked up discoloration from the trunk lining. The reserve reflects the age flaws. Bust 32 Waist 24 Front skirt length 40 Back length 60.
From Me:
Isn't this just adorable?
