This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late 1890's Bodice
From the seller:
This is a fabulous victorian blouse. It is a gorgeous burgandy velvet with pretty black, burgandy and red sleeves. It is in very good condition for it's age. Here is a list of issues: It has a tiny torn place next to the shoulder that is 1/2" long. It orginally had 4 stays, one is missing, the other three are broken. It has a flap that lays down over the buttons and it has a few issues as well. The fabric on the back has a 3" tear at the bottom and a 1/2" tear at the top. Of course you can't see any of that damage when the flap is in place. The sleeves are in very good condition, no holes, rips or tears. The inside fabric is worn at the neck and there is a couple of tiny spots on the back of the collar. Otherwise, this is a truely spectacular piece of history. It is very small and might have even been a young girls size. The bust measures 28" from armpit to armpit, the waist is 23" from seam to seam, and it is 15" from the shoulder to the bottom. This is a vintage piece so I would like to remind the buyer it is not perfect, please view all pictures as they serve as part of the description. Free shipping is to US only, international buyers please contact me for a shipping quote before you buy. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Check out my store for more great items. Thanks for looking!
From Me:
This looks to be a late 1890's bodice based on the sleeves. I agree that it might have been for a young miss given the small size.
