This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late 1860's Green Dress
From the seller:
1840's - 1850's Wool Print Day Dress: 1860's Emerald Green silk & Floral Stripe Dress: What a beautiful fabric. This 1860's dress is made of stripe silk taffeta. The wide green stripes were originally striped with a fine black stripe. The photo of the back shows this detail. For some reason most of the black thin stripes have faded out. The sleeves are Juliet type treatment. The buttons are ivory silk faille. The bust is 38, the waist is 30, the skirt length in front is 42 and it is 47.5 in back. It is 132 inches around the bottom. There is much repair to this dress with some small scattered holes. There are stains under the underarms and patches. There is extensive reinforcement at the back waist band and the front side of the waist. See photos. It still presents beautifully. There is still some life in the dress. The skirt and bodice are fully lined. The bidding will start at 25.00. Please check on our other vintage auctions too and have fun bidding.
From Me:
Look! Wearable size! No pattern matching! And it's period! Woohoo!
