1860's Green Bodice

From The seller:

Ladies victorian shirt. 1880's? lace on bottom of sleeves (bad condition) and patent on back-states New York-Chicago with numbers. I believe this to be satin? In fair to poor condition with Some kind of panal missing in front? Does not seem to be rotting anywhere on shirt.

From Me

I think this piece was originally 1860's (based on the sleeves) and redone multiple times -probably lastly around the Turn of the Century. I have seen dresses from the Victorian era reworked as late as the 1950's. In the Victorian era, they would rework gowns that were as old as three or four hundred years -at that time!
