1890's Lace dress

From the seller:

You are bidding on an Incredible & Magnificent Victorian Vintage pale pink Batiste Linen High Neck Wedding Dress or Fancy Afternoon Dress with very fine white net insert & edge laces, rows of tiny 1/8" tucked insertion, and rows of hundreds of yards of ruffled edging lace on the sleeves and bottom edges. The insertion lace in the sleeves, bodice, and skirt adds exceptional detail and beauty along with the tucking detail, This is Quality and perfect for your Victorian wedding!

I'm amazed with the amount of work and detail that went into this gown! It has a loose lace detail that encircles the neck that I've never seen before -just enlarge my photos to see the fabulous details.

The shoulders measure 14"wide, the waist is 32", the bust is about 38-40" (remember it's meant to blouse) and it has puffed sleeves that are 7" long under the arm. In front it's 39"l and 42"long in the back. It has a 24" long placket in the back with hooks & eyes and hand made loops.

It's been freshly laundered and pressed so the condition is clean and bright but it does have some repairs to the lace, I totally restored & lined the rows of ruffled lace on the sleeves, replaced one shoulder piece (under the flap of tucking & lace), and 2" of the back neck ruffled lace was torn but it's been stabilized, see photo #16.

This is the last of the dresses from the collection I've been listing and I saved the best for last!

From Me

I think Anne of Green Gables would be jealous of this dress.
