1890's Black and Gold Gown

From the seller:

A magnificent 1895 Belle Epoch evening dress made of black and gold brocade fabric. The gold floral brocade has a changeable quality from light to dark depending on light reflection. The bodice has full leg of mutton style sleeves that are decorated at the top with epaulettes. The round neckline is trimmed with black lace and braiding. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a side hook and eye closure. The skirt is fully lined with cotton and a new waistband has been added. The dress is in very good and sturdy condition. There are no splits or holes. There is some mild underarm discoloration on the inside lining that does not show on the outside fabric. Bust 35 Waist 29 Front skirt length 40 Back length 43.

From Me:

This is a wonderful wearably sized gown. As I mentioned yesterday, there does seem to be a rush on 1890's outfits this month! I'm not entirely sure why. However, a lot of them are truly awesome pieces to the point they are museum quality! It's great boon to us who like turn of the century pieces or even need some inspiration for steampunk.
