18th Century Bonnet

From the seller:

The calash is made out of a cotton fabric with a plais silk bow. The two black strings were added on later (ti was like that when I bought this back in the 90's).

From me:

Although these strings may have been added later, ladies did add strings to the front to keep the calash up and over their hairdos. It's probably made out of silk, lined in cotton and the bow as added at a later date.
