This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1920's Brown and Beaded Dress
From the seller:
This vintage Art Deco brown silk chiffon pink shell beaded drop waist flapper dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of a chocolate brown sheer silk chiffon fabric, with iridescent pearl pink beaded shells and bronze beading done in an Art Deco abstract musical note, rising sun, striped spiral pattern design. This beautiful beaded loose fitting flapper dress has a drop waist, with a rounded scoop neckline, sleeveless, with wide open arm holes. It is sheer, unlined and would need a slip underneath. The dress measures 42 inches long, with 40 inch hips, waist and bust. It is in good wearable condition, with some missing loose beads, a few tiny pin holes on the the top and a small hole on the bottom front skirt (see close-up). It is a wonderful wearable piece of Art Deco beaded textile art!
From Me:
This would look fantastic with a pink slip beneath it.
