This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Young Girls 1920's Summer Dress
From the seller:
I FOUND THIS INCREDIBLE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN DRESS IN AN OLD TRUNK..I DID GIVE IT A LIGHT SOAK, THERE IS ONE LIGHT YELLOW MARK ON THE SKIRT PART ..PLEASE SUPERSIZE PICS! I SEE ONE SMALL HOLE ON THE FRONT MID WAIST..I DON'T THINK IT WOULD SHOW WITH THE PROPER UNDERGARMENT
THERE IS A LOT OF BOBBIN LACE ON THIS DRESS..REALLY BEAUTIFUL WORK..I SEE ONE SMALL HOLE AT NECKLINE, ONE ON FRONT HEMLINE LACE AND ONE IN THE BACK OF THE HEMLINE LACE
THE LACE IS ON THE NECK, SLEEVES..WAIST AND DROPPED WAIST AND HEM
THE BACK HAS BUTTON CLOSURE WITH HAND MADE LOOPS AND BUTTON HOLES..ALL SEEM TO BE PRESENT
ON THE INSIDE OF EACH SLEEVE, THERE IS A SMALL ATTACHED CORD..THEY MUST BE OF SOME USE BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY WOULD BE FOR
I AM NOT SURE WHAT SIZE THIS WOULD BE,, HERE ARE THE MEASUREMENTS:
SHOULDER SEAM TO SHOULDER SEAM 9"
LENGTH 29"
SLEEVE 8"
I "THINK" THE DROPPED WAIST MAY SIT AT THE WAIST,, WITH THE LACE ON THE BODICE BLOUSING OVER IT..THE DROPPED WAIST IS 14INCHES MEASURED FLAT ACOSS THE FRONT
ONCE AGAIN, PLEASE SUPERSIZE PICS TO GET A BETTER LOOK AT THIS LITTLE DARLING PIECE OF HISTORY AND THE GORGEOUS CRAFT THAT WENT INTO MAKING THIS DRESS
THANKS FOR LOOKING
From Me:
Not Victorian, but a lovely early 1920's dress for a young lady.
