This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Early 1870's Bodice
From the seller:
This Auction is for A Victorian Era Ladies Waist Coat.
After measuring I would say this coat would fit a size 6 , but please check size chart to be sure. Fabric is a type of satin jacquard. The fabric itself is still strong and is not shattering. Color is a deep purple/eggplant. This coat is the real deal pre-dates 1900. It is missing buttons and will need some minor TLC / mending, but I feel it could be worn again. Front is missing 3 buttons that could be taken from sleeve cuffs.
Measurements~
Bust: 32 inches
Waist: 24 inches
Sleeves: 18 inches
Back Neckline to Hem: 23 inches
Underarm to End of Tails: 35 inches
Any questions just ask.
From Me:
The seller took a bunch of the photos of the front of the dress and only one of the back. However, it looks like it might support a small bustle so this is either late 1860's or early 1870's.
