This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1850's Winter White Traveling Hood
From the seller:
THIS BONNET DATES TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH C AND IS FASHIONED OF A HAND KNIT WOOL, ITS TOP TEXTURED IN A RAISED POINT, SILK SATIN RIBBON BOWS TRIM WITH MATCHING TIES
THE FRONT TAILS FALL LONG AND SQUARE AT ENDS, SMALL FRAY AT THE EDGE OF THE TAILS AND ON THE SIDE HEAD AS PICTURED
OTHERWISE EXCELLENT IN CONDITION
ADULT SIZED HEAD WITH TAILS FALLING A VERY LONG 20 INCHES FROM THE TIES AT THE NECKLINE
From Me:
Although this picture is from a few years later (1862) than I believe this extant hood is, you can easily see the resemblance.
