This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Turn of the Century Pink & Green Dress with Wild Print
From the seller:
Vintage authentic victorian antique three piece dress. Outer layer is fine sheer batise cotton with a wavy pink background and beautiful pink roses. Top is very fancy, has a square neckline, no closures, lots of tucking, shirred ribbon, and lace. Skirt has a smooth front, gathered back for a mini bustle, silk ribbon trim, ruffles. Has a pink cotton underskirt with a ruffle at the bottom. Also see our other great items including more dresses, we gladly combine shipping. Buyer pays in three days, pays shipping.
Very good vintage condition for its age. Has spots (especially on the underskirt), the don't show too much on the outerlayer due to the busy pattern. The top has some breaks in the fabric especially at the waist area.
Measures
Top Length-16"
Waist-20"
Skirt Length-41"
Sweep-156"
From Me:
I wish the seller tucked the blouse in, then you could really see how pretty this dress must have been. The fitted sleeves with the caps were popular in the early 1900's.

Ah-ah! That's what's wrong. I looked at this dress and wondered if the problem was the model. I must be too tired to think clearly. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLol! When I saw this the first time, I could hear my Mom yelling at me on my way to the bus stop "Tuck your shirt in!!!!"
