This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Sweet looking Teen's Era Evening Dress
From the seller:
THIS DRESS DATES TO THE EDWARDIAN ERA AND IS FASHIONED OF A TEAL BLUE SILK SKIRTING WITH A MACHINE MADE OFF WHITE LACE ON ITS TOP WITH BLUE SILK SHOULDER STRAPS AND AN ASYMMETRICAL SILK OVER THE BUST. THE INNER BODICE IS BASED IN NET WITH A RHINESTONE TRIM RUNNING AROUND THE PIPED SILK NECKLINE. HOOK CLOSURES ARE IN THE REAR, IT WAS MEANT TO BE WORN WITH A BELTING BUT NONE WAS FOUND WITH THE PIECE.
THE BOTTOM IS IN LAYERS OF MATCHING MACHINE MADE LACE IN RUFFLES ATTACHED TO SILK DE CHINE, SKIRT IS SLIT AT THE SIDE WITH A ROSETTE AND RHINESTONE TWIST AT THE HIGH OPENING.
THERE ARE FIVE PINHEAD HOLES AND SEVERAL SMALL BLACK INK STAINS AT THE FRONT CENTER HIGH WAIST, SEVERAL SMALL BREAKS TO THE LACE, WITH A SPATTERING OF STAINING AND FADED LINES THROUGHOUT THE SKIRTING. BUT IS OTHERWISE IN STRONG, WEARABLE CONDITION.
MEASUREMENTS IN INCHES:
BUST: 36
WAIST: 38
LENGTH: 52
From Me:
I *think* the seller meant 28" not 38" for the waist. Very cute dress!
