This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1890's Black Lace Dress
From the seller:
An elegant 1890’s two piece black Chantilly lace evening dress. The bodice has a ruffled lace attachment that extends around the neckline and to the edge of the bodice hemline. The lace has a scalloped edging. The sleeves are trimmed at the top with a wide flounce of lace and the sleeve cuffs are trimmed in the same manner. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front hook and eye closure. The skirt is designed with two lace tiers. It is lined with cotton. The dress is in very good condition. There is no underarm discoloration. There are three small pea size holes in the lace on the skirt near the waist, one ½ inch break and a few breaks along the edge of the scalloping. A very pretty display dress. Bust 31 Waist 23 Skirt length 40.
From Me:
Does anyone else see this dress and think "evil queen" from a fairy tale movie adaptation? I think it's the neckline.
