Late 1860's Swiss Waist

EDIT: For those coming from Facebook, I do not nor will I ever have a FB account. I'm an IT security professional in RL and am revolted by their practices. If you have any questions, please ask them here. I'm happy to respond but cannot do so on FB.

From the seller:

DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH C

FASHIONED OF BLACK SILK TAFFETA WITH A POLISHED COTTON BENEATH

FASHIONED IN CUT OUT STRAPS WITH A CRISS CROSS FRONT

HOOKS CLOSED IN THE REAR

APPLIED ALL OVER THE STRAPS WITH SILK CORD VINES AND VELVET FLORALS

NEEDS SEVERAL STITCHES TO HOLD THE APPLIQUES AND STRAPS BACK INTO PLACE, BUT OTHERWISE EXCELLENT

LOOKS GREAT OVER A LIGHTER COLOR

MEASUREMENTS IN INCHES:

BUST: 36

WAIST: 23

LENGTH: 16

From Me:

First, the swiss waist is on backwards over an 1890's dress.

The criss cross goes in the back - from the front, it looks like any other late 1860's swiss waist. I'm guessing 1867 ish. There were a LOT of odd looking swiss waists coming out about then given the whole transitional style thing.
