This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Natural Form Droolable Dress
From the seller:
5, Extravagant 1870's Gold Silk Princess Line Bustle Gown: This gown is just fabulous. It looks like an Impressionistic painting from the 1870's. It is completely original. it is lined in brown cotton. The condition has some issues. There is some shattering on the top of the sleeves and around the neckline. There is a 3.5 inch split on the right shoulder and another split about the same size on the left side of the skirt above the bow. There is one area of splitting on the bottom ruffle at the back. There are photos of these issues. This is too fragile to wear and is so tiny it would be hard to find a woman that would fit in it. The bust is 29 and the waist is 21. This is a stunning gown that would be great for historical reference, and would make a fine exhibition piece if you could find a dress form small enough to wear it. The bidding will start at $0.99 with no reserve. We will be listing all types of garments this week from the mid 1850's through the early 1910's so check us out.
From Me:
Very late 1870's - like 1879/1880. It's also technically not a bustle gown - it's Natural Form era dress. However, the Natural Form era was between the two bustle periods and used a lot of the same lines from the bustle era.
