This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1880's Mauve and Purple Wool Dress
From the seller:
Wisteria color fine wool one piece ladies dress dating to the 1890's. Unique construction with bodice connected to the skirt at the back half of bodice, ties at the waist band of the skirt. Bodice closes with tiny white buttons, with faux jacket, trimmed in small box pleats, and long side gathered swags in front only. Long train at back. Sadly stored badly and the critters got into the trunk. Sold as is as found, best for design/pattern prototype, with scattered small and large holes thruout the skirt mostly, fading on sleeves and staining on train. Chest approx. 32", waist 22", sleeves 19", length in front approx. 54", with train 64".
From Me:
Definitely 1880's. I'm so excited to see this dress simply because of the sleeve decoration and the lovely pastel colored wool!
