This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Drool Worthy 1870's Black Gown
From the seller:
A beautiful black silk 1880s gown with long train and red silk accents. Fully lined in cotton with corsetry, the undercarriage is no longer with the dress. Heavy weight silk, fabric buttons, intricate beadwork, cords and tassles. The end of the train is pleated with red trim and lace underneath. A medium to small size.
The fabric is weakened in many areas, particularly at the shoulders. Splits in the fabric can be seen across the back shoulders, along a few bodice seams and in the skirt. Many beads are missing, even on the tassle ends. The lining is slightly yellowed. This is a very heavy garment, care must be taken when handling. No odors, but it can use a cleaning. Lots of photos!
Length in front 56"
Train length 34"
Bust 36"
Waist 28"
Note: Due to the weight of this garment, it will only be shipped via Fedex Ground to Canada & USA. If you really want international shipping, please contact me for a quote.
From Me:
This looks like it's jsut before or just after the Natural Form era which puts it in the 1870's. And it's a wearable size. And it's GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
