This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Natural Form (?) Era Dressing Robe
From the seller:
Fancy vintage Victorian Edwardian long cotton nightgown decorated with broderie anglaise, tucks, and lace insertion. Gorgeous!
c. 1900s
Stunning details in the front, bottom, collar and sleeves. Bottom of gown is double layered.
Opens and closes halfway with 8 buttons hidden behind gorgeous details.
Very good vintage condition. Combine it with a vintage slip and the right sash and you got a gorgeous vintage dress.
Has several age spots/dirt, a few small tears that can be mended by any seamstress. Could use a nice soaking. Please use the zoom to check out the pictures and details closely. The noted issues are captured in pictures 6-12.
Although the dress appears white in some pictures, it's more of a creamy color.
Measurements:
Shoulder to shoulder: 15"
Armpit to armpit: 20.5"
Sleeves: armpit to wrist: 15"
Length: 50"
From Me:
The styling on the front is very typical of the 1880's and even the late 1870's. However, it doesn't look like it has a bustle so....late 1870's, early 1880's.
