This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1850's Summer Dress
From the seller:
A heavenly 1850’s printed voile 1 piece day dress that has recently been de-accessioned from a major NY museum collection. The cataloging tags are pinned to the dress. The fabric has a scattered pink rose pattern on a striped tan and white background. The roses are surrounded with brown and green leaves. The bodice has full bell shaped sleeves that are ruched at the top. The neck, shoulders, armscyes and waist are piped. The bodice is lined with a cotton camisole. The unlined skirt is attached to the waist with cartridge pleating. The camisole lining has a front hook and eye closure. The outer fabric has a tiny Dorset button closure. The dress is in very good and sturdy condition. There are two small areas on the waist that will need some minor re-stitching. There are no holes and only slight underarm discoloration on the cotton lining only. There is a small area of light age discoloration near the back waist area. A splendid display dress. Bust 32 Waist 22 Skirt length 41 Width at hemline 132.
