Edwardian WWI Era Gown

ITEM DESCRIPTION: VERY NICE Victorian 1900-1919 Nattier Dress Afternoon Gown,Purple,Velvet,Wool. This is a beautiful early Nattier one piece gown made of heavy velvet and wool with a sheer top with pearl buttons and lined in a lighter silky white fabric. The skirt is of heavy wool. It is a very gorgerous deep purple color with a lot of attention to detail. The inside is marked by the dressmaker "Nattier 25 Maddox ST. Regent ST. W." Please do look at the photos showing the craftsmanship that went into the inside of this dress, with handstitching and hook and eye closures, as well as the buttons, collar and sleeves. Although this item is in good condition for its age, there are some minor age stains and tears throughout the garmet. Please see our detailed photos. SIZE & CONDITION: This is overall in good condition, with age spots and tears throughout. There is aging shown on the inside of the dress. The age spots are on the sheer blouse part of the dress and there are minor tears inside the dress and around some of the buttons. Please see photos for details. The measurments are; length of sleeve from shoulder to cuff 22", length of dress from top of collar to bottom of skirt 59", from shoulder to shoulder 16" and waist 24". I can see me wearing this if I lived in the teens. Nice, simple lines with a flare of color but overall a good, solid everyday dress.
