This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Puffy! Sleeved Lavender Outfit
From the seller:
Victorian c.1875, pale lilac and cream silk wedding dress in two parts. The bodice with large puff sleeves has six little bows at back, is boned and fully lined with hooks and eyes closure. The mandarin collar has wear as do the sleeves. Measurements from shoulder to waist 16 inches, sleeves measure 23 inches in length. The silk skirt has a ruffle at the hem, also tape ties, and is fully lined. The length is 43 inches and the waist measures 22 1/2 inches. There are some stains and wear on front, sleeves are fragile and have wear and stains. also waistband needs repair. Some stains on skirt but no tears on outer skirt or lining. Its a lovely dress but does need cleaning, I am selling as I bought.
From Me:
Dearest Seller, This is not 1875. It's not even close to being 1875. Do you see a bustle back on this skirt? Did you NOT see the puffs of doom on the sleeves? That is also not a Mandarin collar by any stretch.
Sighs,
Me
Sometimes I wonder about these sellers. If you don't know what you are selling, admit it! It makes you look a lot less dumb. This is so 1895 that it screams it. Anne of Green Gables, eat your heart out!
