Toffe colored Bustle Era Gown









From the seller:

A majestic 1880’s dark gold and dotted tan silk bustle reception gown. It comes from the Peabody estate near Boston, MA.. The gown is a one piece princess style. It has a front button closure. The lower edge of the skirt is draped and lavishly trimmed with bows and pleated sections that are outlined with dark gold satin. The ruffles hemline is also decorated in this same manner. The back sweep is decorated with a large draped festoon. The gown has a long back sweep. It is lined with cotton. The gown is in very good condition. There are circles of underarm discoloration that do not show when displayed. There is no other discoloration, just shadows created by the camera flash. There are a couple of very small pea size holes in the dotted silk fabric on the skirt. A regal display gown. Bust 32 Waist 26 Front skirt length 42 Back length 57.
