Purple Edwardian Day Dress

From the seller:

This lovely dress is just one of many that I will be auctioning this week. All are from the estate of 91 year old Miss Ruth McConnel of Alliance, Ohio. The Edwardian & Roaring 20's clothing belonged to her mother, Ethel while the 1940's & 50's belonged to her. Make sure to watch for her father's clothing too, Mr. George McConnel, founder of McConnel Insurance Company still in existance today.

This frothy, sheer dress is just gorgeous ~ made of sheer deep violet crepe with soft net mesh underneath. What grabbed my attention immediately was the hem, the bottom of the dress. It's sewn to the mesh in a draping, ballooning fashion ~ so different, so attractive. Deep violet or eggplant best describes the color. The mesh serves as a sexy tank-style camisol as well, with pretty lace across the top. The dainy sleeved top & sash are attached at the back, creating a delicate blousy effect emphasizing the small waistline. This dress is in very good condition. The only issues that I found were a bit of discoloration under the arms & that is pretty unnoticeable. The mesh tank is thin at the top one one shoulder, all of which I have pictured for you. There are no holes, etc. Even though this fabric is light & delicate, I believe it can still be worn today.

The bustline measures 34 1/2" & waistline of 29". The skirt is 33" long from the waistline. Please take a look at the other clothes I have listed. I'm always happy to combine shipping.
