This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Nice Simple 1860's Dress
From the seller:
A charming original circa 1860 lady's one piece calico stripe printed muslin day dress with a stayed muslin lined bodice, an inner hook and eye closure, passementerie buttons to the front closure, gathered above the piped waistband, and piped at the neckline and at the drop shoulders of the capped bell sleeves. The unlined skirt has a cartridge pleated back and a gathered front to the waistband, with a deep turned hem. A 38" bust, 31" waist, and 58" from shoulder to front hem. Shown here over a hoop skirt that is not included. In good as found condition, with some wear at the button holes, some small scattered age flaws and spots, two period mends to the skirt, some minor perspiration color to the armscyes, and some light perspiration spots at the shoulder tops and the back of the neck. All is reflected in the reserve price for this original circa 1860's printed muslin day dress.
