This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. Blue Walking Suit
From the seller:
A stunning 1890’s blue velvet two piece walking suit. The deep royal blue velvet has a thin black stripe pattern. The long coat is lavishly decorated with black braiding across the shoulders, front opening, waist and sleeve cuffs. The coat is lined in black satin and ivory satin around the neckline and front opening. It has a front hook and eye closure. The skirt has black braiding at the edge of the hemline. It is unlined. The suit is in very good and wearable condition. There are no holes and no underarm discoloration. There is one nickel size barely visible spot on the front of the skirt and a few tiny splits in the ivory satin lining. Shoulders 15 ½ Bust 34 Waist 28 Length 36 Skirt measurements Waist 24 length 38.
